GUILT AND DECISIONS

Karen Arjona

It's not your fault they were bad,
it's not your fault they treated you wrong,
it's not your fault they cared so little,
when they notice they were breaking your soul.

It's not your fault you couldn't choose,
it’s not your fault life wasn’t fair,
it’s not your fault they hurted you,
and said you were beyond repair.

It's not your fault they claimed your body
and told you it wasn’t yours,
it’s not your fault they touched you
and accused you of not being pure.

But it’s your fault, if you decide,
to give up,
end it all,
and try no more.

It’s your choice to keep fighting,
It's your choice to try and overcome,
It’s your choice to wish and defeat,
All the messed up things that life brought you.

You won’t forget, even if you try,
you won’t forgive, even if you want,
but try to keep up, because then you'll be,
just another prey that couldn't move on.

So don’t give up,
for anything in the world,
don’t make them right, so please just try.

Live out of spite,
live out of love,
live out for anything,
that keeps you wishing more.
