Present giving 101

Holidays and events are a super common thing in life. Even more if you have a larger circle of friends and family. I'm sure that everyone in this world has been in that situation where a very special date is coming up and you're STILL empty handed. If you haven´t, you will. Unless you're some sort of grinch or something. Receiving gifts is something considered a very important part in holidays like birthdays and christmas. And since Christmas is already around the corner, I will help you out with what I consider the worst and best gifts to give to a family member, friend, love interest, etc. 

 

First of all, we have the art of giving “money”. If you are like me, and like anyone else in this world, you LOVE money. The reason why people think that giving money as a gift is a good idea it's because they don't really know what that person likes, therefore they give them the money so that they can get something they do like. But that's why I think that it is such a cheap and low effort thing. Giving money, in my opinion, it's like saying “ I don't know you at all or your interests and I'm too lazy to find out or do something special so here's some money”. Money is definitely the LAST thing you want to give no matter what. 

 

Next we have objects. Like plushies, video games, cards, etc. This is a good gift, if you do it well. If you want to really make that person feel like you know them, get them something special and meaningful for them. Something that they mentioned they really like and give it to them. Especially if they said it a single time a long time ago. That way you let them know that you really care about them and have remembered that thing they said one time. 

 

But what do I consider to be the best present of all? Well, I think that the best present you can give someone is to show them you really love and care about them. Something that shows that you really put time and effort into it. And that is: Artsy stuff. Like origami, paintings, drawings, make them a ring, a necklace, build something small for them, etc. I think that is the most meaningful and beautiful thing someone could ever give. It shows effort, time, care, EVERYTHING.
