Whispers of Society
Armando F.
We walk in streets of borrowed dreams,
Each voice a thread in tangled seams,
A thousand faces, yet one mask,
A truth too heavy none will ask.
We praise the towers built on sand,
Forget the soil, the worker’s hand,
Applaud the shine, ignore the cracks,
While grows along hidden tracks.
The rich grow gardens fenced with steel,
The poor sow,
And yet a child with open eyes,
Still paints tomorrow’s brighter skies.
Society both cage and flame,
It breaks, it heals, it shifts its name,
But deep beneath the noise and lies,
A single heartbeat still survives.
