THE 100

Paola Beatriz Bustos Morales

Almost a hundred years ago, the Earth ceased to be habitable. A nuclear war devastated the planet and wiped out its inhabitants. The last survivors of the human race live on a large space station called The Ark made up of several smaller stations that were in orbit at the time of the disaster. In The Ark, you live under very strict control due to space issues. Any crime, no matter how small, is punishable by death, except when the accused is under eighteen years of age. In this case, he is confined in prison until he comes of age when he will stand trial. But the great space station is dying and the life of its inhabitants (and therefore the survival of the human race) is in danger. For that reason, the governing council of this society gives the green light to a risky experiment: one hundred juvenile delinquents locked up in their prison are sent to the surface to see if it is habitable again.

In The Ark, you live under very strict control due to space issues. Any crime, no matter how small, is punishable by death...

What the teenagers find when they land is a green, healthy, and wild Earth. From that moment on, they face another bigger problem, which is, how are young people who have never set foot in their lives going to survive? Coexistence will not be easy and will lead to extreme situations, but soon they will encounter a new setback because they are not alone as they thought. Thus begins the television series The 100 produced by CW and based on the trilogy of the same name by Kass Morgan. The main cast of teens is made up almost entirely of little-known big-name supporting actors like Paige Turco, Isaiah Washington, and Henry Ian Cusick. As they face the dangers of this unknown world, The 100 will try to form a community, but if they want to survive they will have to learn to trust each other and even give love a second chance, again. When they find a river, they can bathe and drink a lot of water to hydrate. Meanwhile, other young people stayed near The Ark to watch, while others were fighting, but they did not imagine what could happen. Moments later in the distance they saw an animal like a deer, but they realized that it was deformed; this was because too many species began to mutate together, and it came as a surprise as they had never seen anything like this, not even a fly where they live. "Good people make mistakes too; he looked up into Wells's eyes. That doesn't mean they don't matter." -The 100, Kass Morgan

Since they went out to find resources to eat, they went out to discover the area where they landed; for example, what was around them. They had an idea how to get to their objective through a map they were given from The Ark. There were too many obstacles, when they reached the point of meeting, a volley of arrows attacked them; it meant they were not alone; human survivors lived on the planet. They began to discover the land and realized that they were definitely not alone and that other humans were organized in gangs. For example, there were three, one of the good guys, one of the bad guys and another at war that did get into the area where they lived. They wanted to fight with the other gang, be between gang and gang who wanted to be at peace; but the other gang didn't know what peace meant. While there were bands finding peace with them, they were finding their way and saying goodbye to their best friends since they suffered or died after the wars. Out of everything, there were solutions, but they were very complicated, so they had to fight as the great team they were to be able to survive on the planet.

Personal Opinion:

My personal opinion is that The 100 is a book and a series that I love. I consider that the story has improvede over time, and I have grown very fond of the characters. Leaving aside the series and the differences and similarities between the two, focusing on the plot in the book, you can say that there are 36 chapters in which practically nothing happens. And if we could interpret that it is a first novel in which basically they are introducing characters and their past, what we are going to see in the future with a bit of romance. The story could be perfectly combined with action.

I consider the author very capable and creative as he focuses on what a person raised in a different environment would have to face to achieve what he os she wants.
